When screenwriter and actor Hannah Reilly's google search for symptoms said "GET TO HOSPITAL NOW!", her adventures in the US healthcare system were only just beginning.

The night that actor, comedian, and screenwriter Hannah Reilly came to join us at Story Club, our theme was "Not What I Signed Up For."

Regaling us with a story of her very intimate (and I mean intimate) encounter with the US healthcare system, we laughed, cried, and gave thanks to our universal healthcare here in Australia.

The story takes some pretty terrifying turns, especially when you find out who her health insurer was and exactly when in history this event happened. But I'll let Hannah fill you in with the rest.
